The short answer

We design and build pool cabanas in Mississauga and across the GTA from our shop in Aurora. Choose a pre-designed standard cabana or a custom pool house with a change room, bar or washroom. We prepare the drawings for the City of Mississauga permit when needed and install the cabana ourselves.

Pool cabanas and pool houses for Mississauga homes

Our shop is in Aurora, roughly an hour from most of Mississauga, and we build pool cabanas across the west end of the GTA. We offer standard pool cabanas, which are pre-designed models you can personalize, and custom pool cabanas designed from scratch to suit your pool, your house and the space you have.

Shade and seating

A cedar roof over a lounge or dining area beside the pool, with a storage closet at the back.

Cabana with change room

Practical

An enclosed change room and storage for pool gear, with a covered sitting area in front.

Pool house

Fully enclosed

A larger building with room for a washroom, a bar or kitchenette and a lounge.

Mississauga yards and what they mean for a cabana

Mississauga’s established neighbourhoods near the lake and along the Credit River tend to have larger, treed lots, where a pool house can sit back from the pool and still have space around it. Many newer subdivisions have smaller backyards, where a cabana has to fit beside the pool without crowding the property lines. In both cases we look at access, trees and drainage at the first visit.

If your lot backs onto the Credit River, a creek or a ravine, Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) may need to review the project before a permit is issued. We check this early so the design takes it into account.

Mississauga permits and zoning

The City of Mississauga has its own zoning by-law and building permit rules for accessory buildings, covering size, height, setbacks and lot coverage. Plumbing in a pool house usually adds to what the City reviews. Check with the City of Mississauga; we confirm the rules for your lot during design.

If your cabana needs a permit, our design team prepares the plans and permit drawings and helps you with the application.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit for a pool cabana in Mississauga?

It depends on the size of the cabana and whether it has plumbing. The City of Mississauga sets its own building permit and zoning rules for accessory buildings. We check what applies to your lot during design and prepare the permit drawings if they are needed.

How far from the property line does a cabana need to be in Mississauga?

Setbacks depend on your zone and on the height and size of the cabana, and are set by the City of Mississauga zoning by-law. Check with the City; we confirm the setbacks for your lot before the design is final.

What if my Mississauga lot backs onto the Credit River or a ravine?

Properties next to the Credit River, a creek or a ravine may need a review by Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) as well as a City permit. We check this at the start so the design and timing allow for it.

Can a pool cabana in Mississauga have a washroom?

Yes, many of our pool houses include a washroom or a sink. Plumbing usually means a building permit and more planning, so we include it in the design and drawings from the start.

Do you travel from Aurora to Mississauga for pool cabana projects?

Yes. Mississauga is roughly an hour from our shop, and we build there regularly. Because the cabana is built in our shop first, the time our crew spends at your home is shorter.
